With so many websites and content creators giving free advice on how to make your stream look good or how to be a better streamer, it has never been easier to start streaming. You have all these free sources telling you how and where to start but one thing people still forget is the space right behind you called "Your Stream Room".

Having your stream room look good is not something everybody thinks of but it is something that can effect your success on Twitch. But how can it affect your success on Twitch you ask?

Because Twitch is unlike any other platform as people don't go to Twitch to watch content but rather to watch a personality or a person creating the content they want, live. That is why connections are so important and adding a few elements to your room people can see might just help you grab your audience and hopefully have them ask a few questions.

So here are 5 tips to help make genuine connections on Twitch with your room.

1. I Can Relate To That

Adding something in the background that a lot of people can relate to helps to form more genuine connections between you and your audience as you have something either in common or at least something they might be interested in.

This also helps you by getting more people in chat talking preventing you from sitting in those awkward silences for too long. Not only can it destroy the silence but it can also give people a chance to know you and give them the chance to see your true personality.

Common items that a lot of people can relate to are usually a Guitar, popular anime plush toys eg Pokemon, posters of a movie or show and many more. Be creative here and remember to add items that you really know or care about as this will show true passion that can easily be seen by the viewers.

2. Add Lights

If there is one thing every gamer likes, it is RGB, so why not add it to your room?

Adding different color lights give your room and even your stream something lively and fun that a lot of people will enjoy. I have been to so many streams where people keep telling the streamer that they love the color lights and I have never seen someone complain about it before.

Adding lights you can set certain moods for you game, chat or even just the room and you can even match the colors to the theme of your stream to keep everything uniform.

3. Be Different

If there is one thing about Twitch that is important, it is to be yourself, people look for genuine people and being yourself will help people connect with you easier. You are different than any other person, so make your room different too.

Now I'm not saying that there can't be something similar to someone else's room, I'm just saying don't just copy someone else's room or setup. Try and get as much unique items in your room and items that someone might not have thought of yet and by doing that, people might just stick around.

4. Keep It Clean

One thing people don't want to see is a person who's bed is in the background looking like a mess, or a floor full of clutter or even just a table with cables everywhere.

It is so important to keep your room and everything in sight clean and organized as this will help people feel relaxed and more comfortable in your stream and the more relaxed they are the longer they will stick around.

5. Keep Evolving

Now for the last important point, keep evolving.

What is meant by "keep evolving" is keep an eye on what people like and don't like in your stream room and remove the items people don't like or don't notice and replace them with other items until you have something that everybody is talking about.

Another aspect is looking for new ideas to upgrade the room for the future, now you don't have to renovate every year but changing your room every second year or so shows that your room is evolving with you as time ticks by.

Changing and evolving your room shows people that you are open to change and that you want the stream to be the best it can be and that will encourage more people to support and stick around whenever they are in your stream.

That is the 5 tips I have to improve and keep your stream room looking great and helping you grow while your at it. If you have any questions please feel free to leave them down in the comments or come into my chat while I'm live on stream.

Question:

What is the next upgrade you will do to your stream room?
